2022 is almost in the can.
As I write this we're just a week or so shy of Christmas. It's been, to put it mildly, one hell of a year. Enough so that I've pretty much coasted into holiday break on fumes (again) and, probably against my better judgement, I'm trying to come up with something (anything, really) to write. If I were smart I'd give it another couple of days to relax and get my head straight. Maybe read some books or something to let the organics rest and wiring cool down.
Of course, taking my adderall also helps.
Work is... well, work. Things take as long as they take. And when the end of year moratorium on all work looms everybody and their backup tries to get as much in and done as they can. Not necessarily "reasonably can," sometimes it's more like "can get away with." At any rate things take as long as they take, and sometimes late nighters are part of the job. It's nice not having to eat at my desk all the time, though.
I'm still working on selling mom's house. As one might reasonably expect me to say, it's not going as well as I would like. Suffice it to say that I advise that you not just go with a realtor that anybody recommends. Track down several, research them thoroughly, and have somebody you trust also give them a look-see. A lot more goes into selling a house than it used to - professional photographs, videos, a realtor having a group of regular investing buyers (which you can't avoid these days), actively calling clients looking for a particular kind of house... if they don't do that, I advise you work with someone else.
Once everything with that is done, I'll get something written up.
In other matters, it seems I now have a couple of weeks of R&R on my hands so I need to figure out what to do with myself to recharge. It's not like I have a shortage of stuff to play around with: I've got a whole bunch of locks to mess with, my Flipper Zero finally came in so I need to learn how to use that, there are a few sets of pictures from earlier this year I still have to post, an RFID reader/writer that I've been meaning to play with, a couple of robots (in various stages of usability), a couple of radios, an Atari to recap and recondition...
I also have a few things that I need to write up sooner or later. That's dependent on my mental health, which is to say how much reading and tinkering I do.
Anyway. Happy holidays, everybody out there. I really hope that you have time to relax, goof off, and enjoy yourselves.
