I don't know about anyone else, but this is going to make the 'good' kids angry that they aren't trusted, and the 'bad' kids are going to get even more crafty.

They can’t. The metabolites are the same.

It’s actually a very common false positive in drug tests – blood and urine tests, specifically.

Not that the drug-testing industry (yes, it does qualify as an industry) wants you to know that…

Nickel and Dimed has some interesting numbers about the actual value of these tests for employers. Drug testing has had no effect on worker productivity.
